ENPI CBC "Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme": launching of the first call for proposals
The first call for standard projects of the European Neighbourhood Partnership Instrument (ENPI) Cross-Border-Cooperation "Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme" is now open: it concerns the four Programme Priorities and a total of €32 million has been allocated for this call.
The general objective of this programme, which is managed by Sardegna, is to contribute towards the promotion of the sustainable and harmonious cooperation process at the Mediterranean Basin level by dealing with the common challenges and by enhancing its potentials. In coherence with this objective, joint projects may be submitted under the following four priorities:
the promotion of socio-economic development and the enhancement of territories;
- the promotion of environmental sustainability;
- the promotion of better conditions and modalities for ensuring the mobility of persons, goods and capitals and
- the promotion of cultural dialogue and local governance.
The entities eligible to participate in such projects include public bodies, local, regional and central administrations, companies and other private organisations, universities, non-governmental organisations, traders’ associations and organisations representing economic and social actors. Note that a co-financing element amounting to a minimum of 10% of the budgetary allocation is required in order to be able to participate in such projects.

The deadline for the submission of the project proposals is WEDNESDAY 16th SEPTEMBER 2009.
Registrations open for the launching conference - Cagliari (Sardegna), 13th-14th July 2009 In view of the launch of the first call for project proposals, the Managing Authority of the ENPI CBC "Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme" (Sardegna) is organising a launching conference on 13th and 14th July 2009.
The first day (starting in the afternoon) will consist of a plenary session involving national and regional representatives from the participating countries, with debates on issues such as the Programme strategy in the current framework of Euro-Mediterranean relations as well as the needs and expectations of the eligible territories.
The second day (whole day) will be dedicated to potential projects, including four thematic workshops on the Programme Priorities and a ‘partners search café'.

Information Day - Valencia (Spain), 16th July 2009 The Branch Office in Valencia would like to invite interested parties to an information day, which will take place on Thursday 16th July 2009 at the Centro Cultural Bancaja, Plaza Tetuán 23, Valencia, Spain.
The aim of the seminar is to present the ENPI CBC "Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme" and to give technical and practical details about the first call for proposals for standard projects, which will remain open until 16th September 2009. Note that the travel expenses in connection with this seminar would have to be met from the entity’s own budgetary allocation.
Pre-announcement for sixth call under OPI (ERDF)
The Planning and Priorities Coordination Division (PPCD) within the Office of the Prime Minister, would like to announce that shortly it will be launching a new call for project proposals to be part-financed by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2007-2013. Eligible applicants will be invited to submit applications for projects falling under Priority Axis 6 of Operational Programme I ‘Investing in Competitiveness for a Better Quality of Life’.
